Upon entering this course, I asked myself "Why war? Why couldn't I have gotten a different theme?" But upon traversing the myriad of pages of required reading for our course, I found that war is actually quite interesting. Is it painful. It is fascinating. It is universal. It is relevant. Here, I will write blog posts on topics and texts from Humanities 1A, in hopes of learning more about the significance of war to humanity.
After reading a very wide spectrum of literary works throughout the course that span from the times of Ancient Greece all the way until the modern era, I have realized that these works that have remained so time-honored up until today have stood the tests of time for a reason. War is universal and timeless. It is an integral part of our nature as self-determining, intelligent, feeling beings. It has always existed.
